Themes

Speakers may propose papers related to one of the following 4 themes :

 Theme 1: Infrastructure sediments: from accumulation to dredging

Environmental issues linked to the sediment accumulation in ports and fluvial infrastructures in a context of erosion and sedimentary transit in a coastal or fluvial environment.

Theme 2: Civil engineering applications

Issues linked to the treatment of dredged sediment and to the methods of implementation and uses of neo-material (concrete, backfill, protective works…).

Exemples: Infrastructure protection; Concrete applications; Roads; Other civil engineering applications you can think of...

Theme 3: Environmental applications

Issues linked to the spraying or the beneficial use of infrastructure sediments in natural areas (both land and sea) for different applications competing with land use and cover (forest, farming…) and the protection of natural areas and ecosystems.

Exemples: Agricultural/environmental applications; Landfill vs. dumping-at-sea; Storage facilities...

Theme 4: Beneficial use and regulations

Issues linked to the obstacles of the beneficial use of different types of dredged sediments applications in national and European regulatory framework.

Exemples: Beneficial uses through circular economy and short circuits; European and national regulations on sediment management...
